Durrës Bar Association training on access to justice for women and girls victims of violence
Professional training for Durrës advocates on Law no. 11/2026, victim-centred practice, and the Coordinated Referral Mechanism.
The Durrës Local Bar Association held training today on ensuring access to justice for women and girls who are victims of violence, with a special focus on the proper implementation of Law no. 11/2026 on preventing and protecting against violence against women and domestic violence.
Led by attorney Iris Aliaj, the session focused on the essential features of the new legal framework, identifying forms of violence-including technology-facilitated abuse-and the legal tools and measures available to protect victims.
Participants also covered protection measures and related legal mechanisms, identifying and handling evidence in violence cases, the role of lawyers and legal professionals in securing access to justice, victim-centred approaches, operation of the Coordinated Referral Mechanism (CRM), and international standards in day-to-day practice.
Through discussion and case studies, the training aimed to strengthen lawyers’ knowledge and capacity to deliver effective legal protection that is sensitive to victims’ needs and aligned with human rights standards.
Under the leadership of Chairman Lorval Petani, the Durrës Local Bar Association continues to support professional development and the role of advocates in defending fundamental rights and freedoms, contributing to a justice system that is more accessible and safer for women and girls.
Access to justice, protection, and dignity for every woman and girl is a shared responsibility.
